Lina studied at DONA INTERNACIONAL AND DOULA CARIBE INTERNACIONAL becoming the first certified Doula in Colombia. She implemented the first Doulas Volunteer Program in a public hospital, being the first hospital to employ Doulas in her native Colombia.

Now based in the Bay Area, she brings her skills as a Perinatal and Postnatal Educator along with her experience in more than 400 births, educating more than 500 couples, and conducting numerous courses for parenthood.

She believes families deserve to be informed, empowered to make birth decisions and that their voices need to be heard and respected. She works comfortably within the hospitals and medical staff, as well as alongside homebirth Midwives.

Lina is a mother of two children born in the comfort of her home with peaceful water birth and this beautiful birth experience inspired her to become a Doula. She has made it her life mission to provide families with strong support during pregnancy, labor, and a great parenthood foundation.

Lina understands that everyone has a right to choose birth in whatever way they feel most comfortable and is supportive of plans for both medicated and unmedicated birth experiences.

She is eager to share her experience and knowledge with new families and offers her services in  English and/or  Spanish. Today, she lives in San Mateo, CA, with her family. She is looking forward to sharing her experience and knowledge with new families.

"As new parents, happy and excited with the news of our pregnancy, we began to feel that there were a thousand things to think about and this overwhelmed us a lot. In the middle of this process looking for a doula, thank God we found Lina, who with her professionalism, disposition and patience guided us from scratch to enter this wonderful world of parenthood, what to buy, how to prepare for childbirth, breastfeeding, newborn care and everything necessary for this new task of parenting. Thank you Lina for making life easier for us, for letting us see everything easier and for helping us organize a new life in a practical and appropriate way for us and our baby. We will always tell Simón about you and how much you helped us for his arrival. A big hug, a thousand, a thousand thanks!"

"Lina's advice throughout the process of becoming a family of 3 was fundamental. She was with us during pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. We live in the United States and it is common to have a Doula here, which is why we did an extensive search, since we did not know much about it. When we met Lina and understood what her accompaniment was like, we decided that she would come at the birth of our baby. She gave us peace of mind, professionalism, knowledge, experience and above all, she helped us to cushion this entire process that comes with a million changes, she helped us organize ourselves in those first days where everything can become a bit chaotic. Thanks to her, we had a successful breastfeeding from the first day (we are 18 months), a wonderful birth experience and a few quiet first days, without unnecessary visits to the pediatrician, full of support and teachings. Thank you Lina for always being there for us with a voice of encouragement, to always resolve our concerns and therefore love for Gabriel. Without a doubt, having your support has been one of the best decisions we have made as a family."

"I wish I would have looked into having a doula much earlier in my pregnancy. I didn’t reach out until I was about 33 weeks pregnant. I knew that Lina would be incredibly helpful during my birth experience, but I never could have imagined how vital she was as a part of my support team immediately postpartum. She not only helped me through some breastfeeding difficulties, but also supported my emotional and physical well being following my cesarean. I couldn’t have done it without her!"
