Hello! My name is Charley. My paramount desire is to educate, encourage, and cultivate parental intuition while supporting birthing people. I have been working with families and their new cuddle bugs for over 15 years. In that time, I have acquired a strong skill set and knowledge base in Attachment Parenting, Montessori Methodology, Preverbal Baby Sign Language, EC (Elimination Communication)/Potty Training from birth, with the bonus know how of all things cloth diapering!

Receiving tailored and unbiased care is my ultimate goal. I provide families with information and support on infant feeding, emotional and physical rest after childbirth, infant soothing, and coping skills for parents. My focus is not solely baby and birthing person, but also in fostering independence for the entire family. From lactation treats to tidying/organizing baby's new space, it is my honor to be your helping hands during this precious transitional period. In our time together, I have the privilege of witnessing your family blossom into a new and special chapter. As Jennifer Darwin would say..."like Mary Poppins, I am here when you need me, and bid you adieu when you don't."

charley's Postpartum Package

"As first time parents with no family support nearby, we decided to look into postpartum night doulas and are so glad that we did!  Charley came into our home for a few nights a week for the first month after our baby was born.  Right from the beginning, she had such a calming presence, and was so kind and patient to us and our baby.  She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to share and we truly trusted her with our newborn.  I loved having someone to discuss things with and to ask questions (rather than googling everything) and appreciated that Charley offered her opinions and advice but never pushed anything on us.  It was also amazing to be able to get some extra sleep!  She was caring and loving towards our newborn, which is exactly what you want when they are so young and precious! We are so grateful for the time we had with Charley and recommend her without reservation."

"Charley is a miracle worker. She helped us 5 nights a week for our first 8 weeks of parenthood and I think it was the best decision my husband and I ever made. She is extremely knowledgeable and caring but never pushy or judgmental, she was amazing with our daughter, and she did all she could to make our lives as new parents easier (especially mine while I was recovering from childbirth). The rest we were able to get with Charley's help let us enjoy the newborn phase so much more than we would have otherwise. You will be so glad you hired her! But she books up so get those dates in early!"

"Charley is a gem. She supported my family as a nighttime doula during the first 8 weeks of having our first newborn, when we had no idea what we were doing. Luckily she was there every step of the way with a nighttime text, product recommendation, or homemade lactation cookies. Even just having her 2 days a week was such a relief. It's obvious how much she loves babies and her job, and I always felt safe leaving our little one in her care."

"Charley was just what we needed to help us feel confident in being new parents with no family support nearby. She walked us through how to make our daughter’s experiences in day-to-day things like diaper changes, soothing for naps, tummy time and baths much more enjoyable for her which, in turn, made us feel like capable parents. We’d highly recommend her for any parent looking for some support postpartum."

10 out of 5 stars for doula Charley! She was absolutely amazing, and I don't know how we would have gotten through the first few months with our newborn. Charley truly loves babies and was so caring with our son. She showed us the ropes of caring for a newborn, such as paced feeding and bathing, and was also attentive to my emotional needs as a new mother. My son struggled with a milk protein allergy and severe reflux, which led him to be uncomfortable most of the time. As first time parents, most people were telling us it was normal for babies to be fussy. Charley was one of the only people telling us that it was not normal and had various suggestions to allievate his symptoms while we worked with our pediatrician and other medical professionals. In the end, she spent many of our sessions with our baby wrapped on her so we could all get the rest we needed. Charley was also very sensitive to my emotions during this time as I had trouble breastfeeding and ultimately needed to give our son hypoallergenic formula. In a world that really pushes "breast is best" it was wonderful to have Charley there to be a voice of reason and support. After all, it's better for a baby to be comfortable and sleep over having breast milk that makes him feel ill. I am so thankful that we found Charley and highly recommend her for others!

Charley was great and helped with ideas for setting up place to make comfortable for the newborn.
Also great to hear her suggestions for helping with newborn sleep during overnight stays.
Friendly personality, and great with baby.

We can't thank Charley enough for all that she did for us and our son. We are consistently getting 8-10 hour stretches now since she started with us and we are forever grateful. Charley was instrumental in helping to point out the discomfort that our son had in his sleep and was great about recommending a new bottle to try out to alleviate gas, gave tips for different nursing positions, and helped calm our nerves with any doubts or fears we had as first time parents. She was a calm and kind presence and made us feel comfortable right away. Would certainly bring her on again for our next baby. Our dog loved her too!

We are beyond grateful for the exceptional support and guidance provided by our postpartum doula, Charley. She played an instrumental role in helping us transition into the wonderful yet challenging world of first-time parenthood. From the moment we returned home from the hospital, she was our guardian angel, ensuring our comfort, educating us, and offering a soothing presence during this life-changing period.

One of Charley's most remarkable qualities is her unwavering patience. She listened attentively to our concerns, never once making us feel like our questions were trivial. Her calming presence reassured us in moments of doubt, and her gentle guidance helped boost our confidence as new parents.

Above all, Charley prioritized our well-being. She made sure that we received the rest we desperately needed during her visits, allowing us to recharge both physically and mentally. Her care extended not only to our baby but to us as a family unit, and that made all the difference during those early, sleep-deprived days. We cannot recommend her enough to any new parents seeking a helping hand and a heart full of compassion!

"From the moment we returned home from the hospital,
she was our guardian angel"

Charley was a wonderful resource as we adjusted to being a family of three. She was especially great in helping us issue spot as we troubleshooted some pretty bad GI/allergy issues for our son, and had thoughtful and useful suggestions based on her wealth of experience.

Charley was a wonderful addition to our team as we navigated the postpartum journey - from feeding suggestions to helping strategize sleep suggestions, she made our nights (and our days!) so much smoother.
