Peace, I’m Kyrsha! I am a mother, full spectrum doula and childcare provider for families. I have an embodied knowledge of birth and postpartum from my own experience, which is what inspired me into birth work. I understand the importance of what it means to be held during pregnancy, educated and supported so that during the birthing process, as the birthing person you have the ability to surrender to the process. As your doula I want to be that physical, mental, emotional and spiritual support for you! I’ve taken comprehensive trainings that include 65+ hours, that have equipped me to be a competent and skilled doula. I plan to continue taking more of these comprehensive trainings so that I can become impeccable in my calling. I believe there is always room for growth! From my earliest memories I’ve had an innate calling in taking care of babies and young children. I studied Early Childhood Education and was a preschool teacher and nanny over the past 7+ years. I have extensive experience in care taking and one of my strengths is being a genuine caretaker! In my free time, I love to be outdoors in nature, hiking, going to the beach, being with family, dancing and journaling.

As a doula I am there to support you through your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

To comfort . To educate . To advocate. To nourish . To be your biggest cheerleader . To let your voice be heard and your spirit shine.

"Kyrsha is an excellent doula! We matched with her pretty late in my pregnancy and we were thankful for her flexibility to take us on as new clients! This was my first pregnancy and I was high risk with a chronic health condition. I felt nervous especially during the pandemic where healthcare services were more hazy and confusing to navigate than usual.  I needed an advocate and someone to lean on to give me strength and confidence during this challenging time. Kyrsha was perfect for my family. She helped me understand what my body was going through with the medical conditions I had and provided me with useful information about exercises and affirmations. She taught me how to wear my newborn and shared baby products she liked. She was on call to arrive at the hospital when baby was ready. She sent supportive texts and videos to calm my nerves. I appreciated the times she came to my home where we talked about the process, how I was feeling, and what I wanted for my pregnancy. She makes you feel like a friend who is with you every step of the way. I highly recommend Kyrsha as your doula!"

"We had the pleasure of working with Kyrsha of the Golden Gate Doulas Association, who supported us for the birth of our son, Rio. We were nervous beyond belief and in need of some real support as we made our way through this new chapter of our lives. We were very lucky to have found Kyrsha, who proved to be exceptionally knowledgeable, compassionate, and dependable. For starters, Krysha came to our home to meet us in person. She learned about what was important to us and helped us put together a birthing plan that we took with us to the hospital and gave to the staff. Thereafter, she checked in with us frequently to see how our planning was coming along--and she always took time to see how we were doing emotionally. She constantly shared information on how to best prepare and how to take care of ourselves and one another. Leading up to our due date, Kyrsha met with us again via zoom and made sure we felt supported. She constantly reminded us that she was always available to consult and support as needed. Once we were headed to the hospital, Kyrsha remained in constant communication. Due to the timing of things, Kyrsha ended up staying overnight in the hospital with us and was an incredible advocate for us in dealing with hospital staff. We were very fortunate to have Kyrsha for the birth of our son and would certainly recommend her to others seeking support throughout their journey. She also did placenta encapsulation for us which was a great plus!"

"Taking a moment to shout out this wonderful woman Kyrsha. Before I got pregnant I knew that I wanted to have a doula. It was important for me to have someone by my side who understood what it was like navigating pregnancy & our healthcare system as a black woman. I am so thankful for Emily for introducing me to Kyrsha. Throughout my pregnancy & postpartum she cared for me, listened to me, & made me feel supported. She has held me & held space for me. Thank you for taking such lovely care of me, Dan, & Lucy. We love you Kyrsha!"

"Things progressed much more quickly than expected with my birth and our doula wasn’t available.  Kyrsha was called same day to support my wife and I at the hospital.  While she didn’t know us, she arrived as soon as possible and fit right in.  We were very comfortable with her, she supported us through the night making sure I was as comfortable as possible.  Kyrsha helped my wife to remain calm and gave her directions to help me during birth, such as where to massage to relieve pain.  She showed the ability to be supportive and welcoming no matter the circumstances, exactly what we needed when we needed it.  I would welcome her at our next birthing as her energy matched with ours so well."

"Kyrsha was so supportive and helpful. I felt like she listened to what I was looking for in a birth experience and what would really help me during labor. She was everything that I needed to get through it. I loved that she arrived during labor prepared with a plan and was nurturing, loving, and really helped be my voice. I felt so held and supported in the best way. Kyrsha provided such loving, nurturing, and supportive care during my labor. She really took note of how best to support me to achieve the birth I envisioned. She made me feel confident, relaxed, and heard throughout my labor and birth. I felt like she was in my corner 100% and ready to speak up for me. My birth experience was amazing and I have Kyrsha to thank for that."

She was everything that I needed to get through it.

Kyrsha was an incredibly calming presence. She was such a wonderful addition to our birth experience. Would happily work with her again or refer her to others!
